My magazine as it is before its first deadline :O

So far this is what I've accomplished with my music magazine and after my feedback I can make my final touches to ensure it's done to the highest of my abilities.

Initial creation so far

So far on the 22nd January I'm almost finalising my double-paged spread and continuing the editing of my contents page. This update is to show my progress and to also refer back to so I can see where I was in comparison to where I will be.

Preliminary photoshop task-Front cover and contents page

Before the creation of my end product, I needed to learn how to use Photoshop properly. Within this preliminary task I was asked to create the front cover and contents page for a schools magazine. It was a way to show what I'd learnt in photoshop and how I my basic skills have developed throughout. In doing this I've now got more than basic skills in Photoshop which will benefit me when creating my end product.

My Step by Step to the creation of my final product

Front Cover
I have an array of photos that I'd like to use. It would be good for an overall background that I'm intending to use because it keeps up a regular theme throughout the magazine. The front cover should also have a unique title that is made out of a custom font so that it stands out on the page. My last want would for the colour scheme to be bright and shocking so lots of white's, yellows and blues because the background I'mm intending to use has black blotches.

Contents page
The contents page is a crucial part of the magazine but its connotations aren't too important because it creates the part of the magazine that are yet to be seen. Its individual pages need to have smart titles that are unique and interesting to the reader which would include unique DJ names. I might find a name generator.

Double-Paged Spread
This is a mix of two pages.
On my first side I want an interview that is clear as an interview but also has leading titles to introduce it, a clear introduction and relevant pictures so that the readers can tell what I've written is what they want to read.
The second page would look good if it was a fact file of my main story and I also want to put an overall effect on that page to create an extra uniqueness to the magazines largest section.

DJ name generator-The search for a name

When designing my drafts for the three parts of my music magazine I began to research names to use for my cover line and other article titles. I went onto a DJ generator on http://rumandmonkey.com/widgets/toys/namegen/3675/#.VIVszv1B2Ix however some of the names generated were either too inappropriate or just unhelpful. Another odd thing was that overall, most of the inappropriate names were of male DJs, I may have to consider looking for a female DJ because the names generated for female DJs weren't all too bad and quite appropriate. At the end of this research I don't think that I'll be using any of the suggested names that this website has given me as I feel it'd be a better use of my time to be slightly more imaginative and make-up my own names for my stories and interviews.

Picture Grid-The pictures I hope to use

These are all of the pictures that I took to be submitted into my magazine. Most of these pictures were taken in Hertfordshire and Barnet as they're the best places to exploit your friends when they're dressed for a photoshoot. The last picture on the far left was the only action shot that I managed to acquire; it was taken as a band performed at my school which was also a brilliant opportunity to exploit there being a famous band and they were more than happy for me to use them in my media coursework.

Working Title

Low and behold here I have created the first draft of my title and slogan thanks to dafont.com and Microsoft word. I came to this title through the feedback I received with my surveys as well as my own way of mixing around feedback. Now to take it to photoshop to add colour, texture etc.
